How to make your work visible to leadership? (as an MLE)
aka how to thrive in a big company
You do good work:
You ship things with impact with good reliability
You are easy to work with, always willing to lend an helping hand to everyone around you
You come up with new ideas and create opportunities for your team
Yet, somehow, you don’t get the recognition you deserve you should get.
And you chalk it up to “big corp politics”.
The things you tell youself:
“I don’t play this game”
“My work speaks for itself”
“Good work should get recognized. Not my problem”
I used to think like that and let me tell you: this “holier than you” mentality will stall your career FAST.
The problem with this mentality is mainly one: your ego.
And I have a big one! So I know what I am talking about ;)
